Tiger volleyball stands at 11-7
Fort Scott High School's volleyball team won 2 of 3 matches at a quadrangular at Louisburg Thursday night and followed up with a second-place finish at the Pittsburg Invitational Saturday.
The Tigers (11-7) lost to Louisburg, ranked No. 4 in Class 4A by the Kansas Volleyball Association, 25-18, 25-16, in Thursday's opener. They came back to beat Osawatomie, 25-11, 25-15, and Prairie View, 25-14, 25-27, 25-20.
Saturday, the Tigers went 3-1 in pool play at Pittsburg. They swept Labette County, 25-7, 25-18, to start things off. Paola won the next match, 22-25, 25-17, 25-10. The Tigers beat Carthage, Mo., 25-23, 25-22, and Iola, 25-18, 25-20.
In the semifinals, Fort Scott defeated Frontenac, 25-18, 25-20. Nevada took the championship match, 25-23, 25-13.
The Tigers open Southeast Kansas League play Thursday night at Parsons with Coffeyville also in attendance.
