County faces obstacles with storm damage repairs

Bourbon County Commissioners addressed a major obstacle to repairing county buildings with the assistance of County Attorney Terri Johnson during its regular Friday meeting at the Bourbon County Courthouse.

The insurance adjuster with K-Camp, the county's insurer, has requested different estimates for roofing jobs on the county's courthouse and jail. Commissioners had been apprehensive about beginning some projects, such as air conditioning repair and replacement and replacement of damaged windows until all estimates have been agreed upon by the adjuster.

Johnson told commissioners that if the adjuster requested other estimates, it was clearly within their rights.
