UNIONTOWN -- Uniontown's girls made just 6 of 36 field-goal attempts Tuesday night as the Eagles dropped a 46-19 verdict to Jayhawk-Linn in Three Rivers League play at the West Bourbon Elementary gymnasium.

The Eagles (0-3 TRL, 3-10 overall) were outscored 12-1 in the first quarter as they missed all eight field-goal attempts in the period.

Jayhawk-Linn (4-0, 7-5), which leads the TRL by a half game over Pleasanton, went 5 for 11 in the opening quarter, holding a 5-0 lead with 3:51 on the clock.

Lauren Rockhold scored the Eagles' first point with 3:40 to go when she made the second of two free throws. Hayden Rathbun finally got Uniontown's first field goal of the night on a 3-point shot from the right wing to 5:12 left in the second quarter. That came after 10 consecutive misses to start the game. DaNisha Robinson hit a bank shot about 40 seconds later to bring the Eagles within 14-7. But the Jayhawks went on to score 10 of the last 13 of the half.

The last 4 of those were scored in the final second of the half. Baylea White made two free throws for the 'Hawks. Then the Eagles tried to roll the inbound pass downcourt to save that second as long as possible. But the ball bounced twice into Shelby Whitley's hands and she laid it in at the buzzer to make it 24-10.

Uniontown scored just two field goals in the third quarter as the Jayhawks increased their lead to 34-14.

An 8-0 run early in the fourth pushed the Jayhawk lead to 42-16 with five minutes to go.

Rathbun scored more than half of the Eagles' points and was the only double-figure scorer in the game as she finished with 10 points. She also grabbed 8 rebounds as Uniontown outrebounded the Jayhawks, 37-33.

White led the Jayhawks with 8 points and Wilson finished with 7. Nine players scored for Jayhawk-Linn.

The Eagles travel to Crest Friday night for another league contest.
