Sharon had been a member of St. Patrick's Parrish in Fulton and when it closed and merged with Mary Queen of Angels, she became a member there. She was an active member of St. Anne's Altar Society.
In addition to her husband Karl, Sharon is survived by her children; Michael Shawn Umphenour of Fort Scott, Karla Mullis and husband Brock, of Butler, Mo., Brian Umphenour and wife Karen, of Moundville, Mo., Krista Hope and husband Danny, of Nevada, Mo., Eric Umphenour and wife Jennifer of Pleasanton, Kan., and Kyla Marchant and husband Reggie of Lowell, Ark.; two sisters, Beverly Kleitz of Chanute, Kan., and Evelyn Dwyer of Fort Scott, Kan.; 13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Gary Erie.
Father Robert Wachter will celebrate the Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church with burial following at the St. Michael's Cemetery in Fulton, Kan., under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed Friday evening Jan. 11, 2013, at 6 p.m. with a visitation immediately following until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Tri-Valley Developmental Center or St. Mary's Catholic School and may be left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., P.O.
