Allen John "Bud" Tucker, 91, of rural Fort Scott, died Saturday evening, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Prescott Country View Nursing Home. He was born April 1, 1921, in Richards, Mo., the son of Allen and Ruth (Smading) Tucker.
He married Bertha Mae Hart on Sept. 12, 1944, in Fort Scott; she preceded him in death in 1987.
He is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Hall and husband, Leo of Hume, Mo.; two sons, Joe Tucker and wife Tessie of Fort Scott, and Jeff Tucker and wife, Terry of Pleasanton, Kan.; six grandchildren, Charles Hall and wife, Mitchelle, Lena Brown and husband, Greg, Diana Yeager and husband Jerry, John Tucker, Jhett Tucker, and John Staton; nine great-grandchildren, Heather, Chad, Jerry Wayne, James, Kyptin, Kelsi, Luke, Brayden and Chance; five great-great grandchildren, Sterling, Banks, Haley, Jacob, and Tyler; and one great-great-great granddaughter, Emry. In addition to his wife Bertha, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Clara Meek.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Minor officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions to "Meals on Wheels," and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kan., 66701.
