Fort Scott High School's junior varsity girls' and boys' basketball teams each won their divisions of the FSHS junior varsity tournament, held Thursday and Saturday.
Tiger boys defeated Frontenac, 57-35, Thursday night. They beat Iola, 57-19, Saturday morning and clinched the title with a 50-33 victory over Chanute to finish the round-robin tournament with a 3-0 record.
Each of the other three teams went 1-2 with Chanute placed second on tie-breakers followed by Frontenac, then Iola.
The places fell into line better in girls' competition where Fort Scott and Chanute each won their first two games to make their Saturday meeting a defacto championship game.
Thursday, Fort Scott downed Parsons, 43-41, in overtime. Chanute won over Iola, 33-28.
Saturday morning, the Tigers beat Iola, 34-25, and Chanute got by Parsons, 28-27.
Parsons defeated Iola, 36-31, in the Saturday session to take third place. Then the Tigers beat the Blue Comets, 40-34, to clinch the title.
Fort Scott's JV teams play at home Friday night against Coffeyville.
