The First Presbyterian Church will hold its "Blue Christmas Service" at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12.
The service is open to the community and is designed to acknowledge the need for healing during the holiday season. The service of Scripture readings and prayers will last about 45 minutes.
"Services like this give us all a chance to express our grief, loss, and disappointment as we prepare for Christmas," said Jared Witt, pastor at First Presbyterian. "When we're told again and again that this is the season for joy, it can be a real gift to be allowed to express our struggles and frustrations."
