Alfred A. Doerfler, age 82, passed away at his home in Auburn, Ca. on Nov. 25, 2012. He was born on Jan. 25, 1930, in Hays Kan., the son of Joseph and Albina Weigel Doerfler.
During his younger years he was a chef, sculptor and jewelry designer in the Los Angeles, Calif., area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa, of 60 years, who passed away on April 25, 2010, a daughter Doris Brubaker, grandson, Alfred Michael O'Neal, his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his brother, Alan Doerfler of California, his brother, David Doerfler and his sister, JoAnn Clark, both of Fort Scott, Kan. He is also survived by three daughters, Diane Garcia, Dannetta Woodruff, and Deborah Doerfler-Casner of California; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two beloved dogs, Alice and Sam. There was cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
