Hickman stops in Fort Scott as part of his tour

Fort Scott American Legion Post No. 25 will host National Vice Commander Glenn A. Hickman of Grove City, Ohio, on his four-day tour of Kansas with a Reception on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 10:45 a.m. at the American Legion meeting room in Memorial Hall.

Enter by the old City Office door on the south or at the handicap accessible door on the north side of the building.

During his tour, Hickman will visit 17 American Legion posts while in the State.

A U.S. Air Force veteran from Grove City, Ohio, Hickman is a life member of Post No. 1 in Columbus, Ohio. He previously served as State Commander of Ohio and has been an active volunteer at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus since 1985.

Hickman enlisted in the Air Force in 1965 and served as a security policemen. He and his wife, Diane, have two children, Jason and Lisa, and four grandchildren.

The news media and interested citizens are invited to attend the reception to hear Hickman speak on Legion programs and issues concerning veterans and the nation.
