John Kevin Wynn, age 56, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Mercy Health Center, Fort Scott. He was born Jan. 13, 1956, in Garnett, Kan., the son of John Homer Wynn and Leota Helen Insley Wynn.

Throughout his life he lived in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colony, Blue Mound and Fort Scott, Kan. He was always happiest with a fishing pole or hunting rifle in his hands. He loved his family and never missed a gathering. Family pictures are reminders of the numerous good times he had celebrating family occasions.

He is survived by his daughter Kimberly, granddaughter Aubrey, father of Aubrey, Adrian, all of Shawnee, Kan., as well as his former wife Charlene Wynn of Fort Scott, Kan. He is also survived by five sisters, Veda and husband Joe Adams of Victorville, Calif., Karen Rogers of Burlington, Kan., Sheryl and husband Sam of Maypearl, Texas, Doris Jean Moon of St. Joe, Mo., Kathy and husband Dale Smith of Branson, Mo.; and an uncle, Tom Ensley of Colony, Kan. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Of special mention are his good buddy Chuck and his mother Linda of Fort Scott. He will be greatly missed by everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family is especially grateful to health providers and other support agencies in Fort Scott and Pittsburg, Kan., especially Mercy Hospice and staff, as well as a group of wonderful friends, during his long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Following cremation, burial will be in the Colony Kansas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
