Autumn Leaves senior citizens enjoy noon luncheon

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

On Saturday, Dec. 8, from 5-7:30 p.m., come and enjoy a home-cooked meal with all the trimmings -- turkey, dressing, noodles, mashed potatoes and your favorite homemade pies.

Please bring a non-perishable food item for the food baskets they are preparing for the needy in the community. Enjoy an old-fashioned evening of fun with drawings and good music throughout the evening. If you need a ride or carry-out meal, call Linda at City Hall 638-4433 Monday through Friday. On Saturday, call Lillie Coonrod, 638-4362, or Patty Peterson 638-4726, or Willa Cable 638-4429. Those not attending the dinner will be able to donate non-perishable food items at City Hall.

Autumn Leaves Senior Citizens met at noon Monday, Nov. 12, with 23 present for a fine dinner featuring chopped pork by Carol and Dave Bridgewater.

A large table was filled by the members who brought the full menu, including many accompaniments such as desserts. Present for the afternoon dinner and business meeting included Michelle Castro, Gabriel Castro, Cathy Allen, Lilly and Jerry Coonrod, Helen Sisney, Jessie and Hardy Dunn, Mary Lee and Jack Payne, Shirley Garrett, Jim Turner, Rent Prettyman, Raymond Kalm, Tina and Forrest Berkey, Sharon DeGruson, Brian Guest, Patty and Gary Peterson.

Bingo was played by those who cared to stay that afternoon. Thanks to the ladies from Arma Care Center who took blood pressure readings and gave the winner, Jerry Coonrod, the gift certificate. We invite other senior citizens in this area to come join us on Dec. 10, to bring a covered dish and enjoy the fellowship of people your own age.
