Lilly Maxine Russaw, age 76, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott. She was born Dec. 3, 1935, in Fort Scott, the daughter of Rev. M.C. Russaw and Mabel Lilly Weston Russaw. Lilly had worked as a lab technician for Mercy Hospital for 24 years. She later worked for the Sisters of Mercy Convent for five years and later as a crossing guard for the USD 234 School System. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ where her father had served as pastor for many years. She enjoyed fellowship with her church family and had served as the church's hospitality leader.
Lilly is survived by her sister, Patricia Jacobs of Butler, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Elizabeth Nelson and two brothers, Albert Russaw Jr. and James Nelson.
Rev. Pete Pulliam and Rev. J. T. Owens will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at the Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ at 5th and Ransom Streets. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Ft.
