YATES CENTER -- Uniontown won its final game of the season here Thursday night, beating Yates Center, 36-22, in an Eight-Man Division I District 2 contest.
"Our kids overcame a lot of adversity the first half," Eagle head coach Chad Stroud said. "We dropped several passes, had too many penalties, and gave up a couple big plays on defense. John Reed busted a 43 yard touchdown run with five seconds left in the half. That was a huge momentum swing for us going into halftime."
The Eagles tied the game 14-14 on Reed's score. They outscored the winless Wildcats in the second half, 22-8.
Uniontown had 306 yards of total offense. They rushed for 260 yards with Reed gaining 178 yards and scoring three times. Garrett Murrow ran for 91 yards and two scores.
Uniontown's defense held Yates Center to 207 total yards of offense. Jay Hierholzer had 18 tackles. Gavin Miller had 11 tackles and Zak Hueston had three sacks.
