Thursday, October 11, 2012

Fort Scott Police Department officers took two suspects into custody for drug-related offenses during a narcotics investigation Tuesday morning at a local residence.

A news release said that David Joe Wyatt, 54, and Robert Ryan Wyatt, 25, were taken into custody about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, and a third subject at the residence was questioned and released without being taken into custody.

Subsequently, at about 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, the FSPD served a narcotics warrant at the same residence, the release said.

David Joe Wyatt was arrested at 9:26 a.m. for possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell. He is still being held at the Southeast Kansas Regional Correctional Center with no bond.

Robert Ryan Wyatt, 25, was arrested at 10:06 a.m. for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. He is also still being held at this time with no bond.

All suspects are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law, the release said.
