Cobalt Medplans announces promotions

Cobalt Medplans recently announced several promotions within the company's management team.

Dustin McClure has been promoted to director of information technology and security. He began employment as the manager of information technology and security with Cobalt Medplans on July 5, 2011, when the office first opened in Fort Scott. Dustin brings more than 15 years of experience in IT and the health claims industry to the Cobalt team.

"During this short tenure, Dustin has brought up two new offices and a new internal phone system," Operations Director Micheal Bryant said in a news release. "When it comes to decision making, problem resolution and timely deliveries, Dustin's performance has been excellent."

McClure lives in Uniontown with his wife and two children.

Sandy Higgins has been promoted to senior manager of process improvement. Higgins began employment with the company on July 5, 2011, and has been instrumental in helping build applications and hot keys that streamline the claims processing and workflow processes. She brings 15 years of customer service, process improvement and management experience to the team. She is Six Sigma Green Belt certified and has received Six Sigma Black Belt training.

Sandy lives in Fort Scott with her husband and two sons.

Stacy Dwyer has been promoted to senior claims manager. She joined the company in July 2011 as the claims manager. She currently manager the GEHA claims team and provides assistance to other claims management team members. Dwyer is a Fort Scott native and has more than 20 years of experience in the managed healthcare claim operations industry. She holds as associate of arts degree from Fort Scott Community College.

Deb Needleman has been promoted to senior human resources manager. Needleman joined the company on May 31, 2011, and has been instrumental in shaping the culture and the rapid growth of the company. She has more than 10 years of experience in the HR field and holds a senior professional in human resources designation as well as a bachelor's degree in business management from Baker University.

Needleman lives in Fort Scott with her husband, Gaylord Oberst.
