INDEPENDENCE, Kan. -- Fort Scott High's Katren Rienbolt took a convincing win at the Independence Cross-Country Invitational here Thursday, beating rival Michaela Ozier of Labette County by nearly a minute.
Rienbolt finished the four-kilometer course in a time of 15 minutes, 7.69 seconds. Ozier came in next in 16:02.57.
Grace Willis finished in second place in the girls' junior varsity race. She finished in 19:30 with Frontenac's Ali Moody winning in 19:05. Clare Gorman took eighth for the Tigers in 20:59 and Kyle Brown was 20th in 22:19.
Garrett Tatro finished 11th in the 5K boys' JV race in 20:13. Zach Ballou was 20th in 21:19.
The Tigers will compete in the Southeast Kansas League Meet Thursday at Chanute.
