ONLINE FIRST: 'Dig Pink' Thursday night at FSHS volleyball
Thrusday will be the annual "Dig Pink" night at Fort Scott High School's volleyball triangular with Pittsburg and Osawatomie at the FSHS gymnasium. Play is set to begin at 5 p.m. with Osawatomie taking on Fort Scott.
A draw for prizes will take place following the opening match, then Pittsburg will take on Osawatomie. That will be followed by a special recognition of breast cancer survivors and another drawing. Then the Pittsburg-vs.-Fort Scott match, which is also a Southeast Kansas League match, will get underway.
According to a release provided by Care To Share/The Sharing Bucket, Tiger volleyball players have raised money by selling T-shirts, and each one and the coaches will donate a dollar to the cause with Care to Share matching the total amount donated. "Fight Like a Girl" bracelets will be on sale and donations will be accepted during the matches. Sonic Drive-In will be making a contribution for each ace served by the Tigers.
Larry Gazaway of All-Hit 103.9 will act as emcee for the prize drawings. One must be wearing pink or one of the Fight Like a Girls T-shirts to win a prize.
