In-person advance voting starts Wednesday, Oct. 17, and continues through noon Monday, Nov. 5.
In addition to the regular hours of 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, the Bourbon County Clerk's Office will offer extended hours for advance voting from Oct. 29-Nov. 2 until 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
Advance voting has become more popular each election due to residents who commute long distances to work. But it is also popular for people who "just want to get voting over with, in case something comes up at the last minute," a news release said.
In 2008, the clerk's office processed nearly 1,600 voters in the 20 days prior to the presidential election and expects that number to increase this year.
The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, Oct. 16, the release said. Those unsure about whether they are registered, where their polling place is located, or those wishing to view a sample ballot may visit www.myvoteinfo.voteks.org.
