CLAY CENTER -- Mary F. Dudney, 87, died Sept. 16, 2012, at Medicalodges, Clay Center, Kan.

She was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Arcadia, Kan., the daughter of Nicodemus and Elda (Clark) Davenport.

Mary worked at the T-Bird Inn in Chapman, Lakeview Restaurant in Wakefield, Sunflower Cafe in Clay Center and for nursing homes in the Clay Center area retiring in 1985. Mary is preceded by four sisters, Emma Leist, Florence Wheeler, Marie Lawrence and Dorothy Garrett, five brothers, Arthur, Robert, Joseph, Albert and George Davenport.

Survivors include sons Nick and wife Tammy Thompson, Clay Center, Kan., Jack Thompson, Victoria, Texas; sister, Bertha Hickox, Colorado Springs, Colo.; granddaughter, Melissa and husband Trentin Wille, Des Moines, Iowa; grandsons, Matt and wife Hilary Thompson, Clay Center, Kan., Brian and wife Lelyla Thompson, Houston, Texas, and Timmy Thompson, Houston, Texas; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kan.

Pastor Scott Campbell will conduct services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kan. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, until service time at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Mary Dudney memorial fund to be designated later by the family.
