Amelia Lucille Russell, 74, of Arma, Kan., passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at the Arma Care Center in Arma. She was born April 25, 1938, in Burgess, Mo., the daughter of Everett Eugene and Florence Violet (Whetzell) Richards. She married James Lee Russell and he preceded her in death June of 1995.
Amelia is survived by her children, Jay Russell of Arcadia, Kan., Donna Nunez of Elgin, Texas, Teresa Zepada of Buda, Texas, Jimmy Lee Russell of Comfort, Texas, Joby Russell of Arma, Kan., and Amelia Jo Sauchak of Illinois; a sister, Connie Ferrell of Walnut, Kan.; and seven grandchildren. In addition to her husband, James, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eddie Richards; and a sister, Dauphine Lowe.
The Rev. Randy Woods will conduct graveside services for Amelia at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kan., under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. and leave for the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
