Elaine Jean Jackson, age 56, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at the Mercy Health Center emergency room. She was born on Jan. 28, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Charles Lee Hall Sr. and Shirley Mae Willis Hall.
She married Dickie Jackson on June 5, 1976, in Fort Scott. She worked for Peerless Products, Valu Merchandisers, and most recently for Windsor Home Health, an in-home care company. Elaine greatly enjoyed the people she helped through her most recent job. She liked her flower garden and raising strawberries. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her husband, Dickie; a son, Jamie Jackson; and a daughter, Jalene Jackson, all of Fort Scott; two brothers, Charles Lee Hall Jr., Port Arthur, Texas, and Michael H. Hall, Fort Scott; two sisters, Teresa Hall, Carthage, Mo., and Shiverla Hall, Joplin, Mo., as well as her mother, Shirley Hall. Also surviving is a niece, Kim Jackson; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.
There was cremation. Elder Bradley Miller will conduct memorial services for Elaine Jackson at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Elaine Jackson Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
