Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

Recently there was an online survey taken by the Tribune asking the following question: "Do you have pride in Fort Scott?" The response to the question was puzzling in the fact that there were less than 10 "Yes" votes and more than 80 "No" votes. While this is by no means a scientific vote, does this reflect the feelings of many local residents? Were these votes cast by local or out-of-town people? I would think our local Fort Scott Pride Committee would like to know. Should this little poll be taken seriously?

I wonder what the 80-plus were referring to. Were there certain reasons? I sure would like to know.

Editor's Note: Final results were 149 total votes with 11.4 percent (17 votes) for "yes" and 132 votes, or 88.6 percent voting "no."
