Charles Robert "Chuck" McElmurry, 59, of Fort Scott, died Wednesday morning, July 4, 2012, at Fort Scott Mercy Hospital.

He was born Oct. 4, 1952, in Fort Scott, the son of Charles "Rex" and Alice Louise (Clarida) McElmurry.

Chuck graduated from Fort Scott High School with the class of 1970.

He married Chris Fast and together they had a daughter, Shay. He later married Janice Coyan and to this union, their daughter Tanna was born. He was later married to Linda Williams and to their union was born their daughter Ashley and their son Chip.

Chuck's kids and grandkids were most important to him.

He was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church and also of the Scottish Rite.

He loved to duck hunt, play baseball and softball and he enjoyed camping. He also loved to garden and barbeque.

Chuck is survived by his parents, Rex and Alice McElmurry; his children, Shay Wehmer of Springfield, Mo., Tanna Truett of Gadsden, Ala., Ashley Littleton and Dan of Fort Scott, and Chip McElmurry, also of Fort Scott; four grandchildren, Robert and William Wehmer, Austin Truett and Harley Littleton.

Pastor Donna Clark-Fuller will conduct funeral services 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home with burial following at Memory Gardens of Bourbon County Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday evening, July 6, 2012, from 7 until 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's United Methodist Church or to the Sharing Bucket and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kan., 66701.
