Edwin Alvin Judy, 83, resident of rural Redfield, Kan., died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at his home.

He was born July 20, 1928, in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of June Judy and Sylvia Brown Judy. He married Marjorie Smith on Sept. 7, 1948, at Fort Scott.

Mr. Judy had worked as a diesel mechanic for International Harvester for 24 years. He also owned and operated his own farm and dairy. He greatly enjoyed draft horse pulling and traveled throughout the Midwest competing in various events. He was a member of the Redfield Ruritan.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of the home; two sons, Mike Judy and wife, Debbie, Redfield, Kan., and Jeff Judy, of the home; two grandsons, Jamie Judy and wife, Patti, Joplin, Mo., and Chad Judy and wife, Rachel, Redfield; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Garrett, Hanna and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Judy, and two sisters, Kathleen McCullough and Erma Hessman.

Pastor Jeff Feagins will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Woods Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
