Pastor Charles and Willa Cable of Arcadia Christian Church will return to the pulpit on the second Sunday in July after enjoying a three-week vacation traveling with other family members to California.
Their son, Bob Cable of Lamar, filled the pulpit on the first Sunday in July and and with 30 others enjoyed the monthly chicken dinner. At opening exercise, special guests Terry and Shawna Moody of Springfield gave their second anniversary offering.
Other guests that morning were the father and grandfather of Stuart Semple who, with Clay Carrington, led the singing while Bob Cable with happy fingers played the piano.
Recently, Mae Watt made a phone call to KKOW and won two tickets to attend the North Ridge Boys Concert. Her sons, Delton Jr. and Bill Watt, picked up the tickets that weekend as they traveled to their homes in the Kansas City area.
Recent guests in the rural home of Vickie and Larry Shead were their daughter, Mitzi and Joel Ray and family. With them were friends Simon and Michelle MacFarlane all from Tulsa, Okla.
The two couples attended a tile training course at Schlister Systems in Kansas City.
The children, Cademan, Atalie and Ryan Ray were joined at the farm by their cousins, Katy and Benjamin Shead, for a sleepover in their grandparents' home ... Other overnight guests of the adults were Amy and David Sachau, Fort Riley, Kan.
Last month, Matthew and Ashley Shead of Joplin, Mo., enjoyed a trip to Six Flags Over Texas in Dallas. Soon after that, his parents Ralph and Cindy Shead of Carl Junction attended the Missouri Fair in Sedalia, Mo. On a recent Sunday, Ralph was guest speaker in Chickasha, Okla., where his former classmate in Ozark Christian College is the pastor.
Autumn Leaves June meeting was held in the Cottage with 18 present for dinner, a business meeting and bingo.
They enjoyed the day after receiving a free blood presure check-up by the trio, Janice Mayfield, Jessica Tinsley and Beth Popejoy from Arma Care Center.

All senior citizens are invited to the July 9 carry-in dinner and a good time visiting. The door opens at 11 a.m. and dinner is served as close to noon as possible.
For Father's Day, Wayne and Christie Parrish took his father and mother, John and Vera Parrish, to the Rustler Grill in Arma for breakfast. Also attending were Mildred Nicoletti and son Joseph Nicoletti.
