In Theaters:

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

In 2005, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett and David Schwimmer delighted children and adults alike as four lovable friends from the New York City Zoo who hatch a plan to escape captivity and decide to discover what life in the wild is really like.

Now in 2012, the four reunite for a third installment that, yet again, finds them trying to return. Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria (Stiller, Rock, Schwimmer and Pinkett, respectively) are still searching for a way back to their beloved New York City Zoo, and this time, they have to find a way to get through Europe unnoticed.

They stumble onto a traveling circus and impersonate circus animals to blend in. They get more than they bargained for when they discover that the fledgling circus is in desperate need of their help and they must transform the act or they may never make it home.

Although it is still a great movie for kids, parents will find it a lot less enjoyable than the previous two. Even though it has some humorous moments, it seemed very uneventful throughout.

I challenge everyone who views this movie to walk out not whistling "Entrance of the Gladiators," (You know, that circus song?) and adding Chris Rock's lyrics. It will be in your head for weeks.

Side note: All those who are impressed I knew the title of that circus song, please stand up.

On DVD:

Good Deeds

It was 2005 when movie-goers got their first glimpse of the genius of Tyler Perry. His "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" was granted a $5.5 million budget, and he turned it around and raked in over $50 million. He releases another feel good movie this year with Good Deeds.

Wesley Deeds (Perry) is the brilliant CEO of a successful company started by his father and handed over to him. His whole life has been scripted and he spends the majority of it living the way others have planned it out for him, including his engagement to a lifelong friend, played by Gabriel Union (Bring it On, Bad Boys 2).

It is not until he meets the fiery Thandie Newton (Pursuit of Happiness, Chronicles of Riddick) that he begins to discover that he can live his life by his own aspirations.

Once again, Tyler Perry proves he is the master of his genre, and he perfectly crafts a story of heartache, strife, discovery and triumph. With a perfect combination of humor and drama, Perry is the best in the business at using entertainment to reach out and force all of his viewers to look at their own lives in a whole new light. With an already stellar career, he shows no sign of slowing down.
