Teresa Lynn Garren, 47, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at her home in Nevada, following a brief illness. She was born Sept. 3, 1964, in Kansas City, Mo., to Junie "Duane" Kerns and Martha Renae Baldwin Kerns. She married Arthur Garren on Aug. 27, 2010, in Miami, Okla., and he survives of the home.
Teresa was raised in Kansas City and attended school there. She graduated from Walker High School in 1984. Teresa has been a nurse for the past 20 years. She worked for Skills Unlimited for the past five years.
Survivors include her husband, Art, of the home; four children, Jennifer Kerns, of the home, LaDonna Fleener and her husband, Steven, Rich Hill, Mo., Angela Hallam, Nevada, and Shelby Terry, Nevada; four grandchildren, Kyrston Fleener, Brendon Fleener, Taylor Miller, and Wyatt Ross; her father, J.D. Kerns, Kansas City, Kan.; four brothers, Robert Kerns, Kansas City, Mo., Junior Kerns, Nevada, Michael Kerns, Kansas City, Kan., and Donnie Kerns, Nevada; one sister, Wanda Maggard, Lamar, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews; two stepsisters, Debbie Lopez and Dana Clouse; and one stepson, Gary Bailes. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Kerns.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 21, at Ferry Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service. The family receives friends from 7-8, Sunday, May 20, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
