HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- Uniontown's baseball team suffered a sweep at Humboldt's hands here Thursday by scored of 10-0 and 11-1. Both games were stopped after five innings by the run rule.

The Cubs (18-0) scored 3 runs in the third inning of the opener, and then added 7 more in the fifth. The only inning they did not score in during the second game was the second.

"Humboldt is a very strong team that is well coached," Eagle head coach Chris Woods said. "We are still improving and things are starting to click.

"The first four innings, we played solid defense. We put the bat on the ball in both games but Humboldt made the plays."

Austin Jefferis had the only hit for Uniontown (1-15) in the opener. Max Labbe and Jordan Woods had each of the Eagles' hits in the second game. Mitchell Newman drove Labbe in with their only run in the top of the fourth as Woods broke up a double play when he slid into second.

Uniontown will host Chetopa in a Three Rivers League doubleheader at Dawson Field in Bronson Monday evening. It will be Fan Appreciation Night with a cookout beginning at 4 p.m. with the first pitch at 4:30. Fans can purchase a hamburger, chips and a soda for $4 with proceeds going to the class senior trip.
