Fort Scott Community College announced Tuesday afternoon that Katie Reihmann has been promoted to the position of head women's basketball coach. She succeeds Diana Couch, who coached the Greyhounds to a 39-63 record the past three seasons.

Reihmann served as Couch's assistant coach the past two seasons.

"I am very excited for the opportunity to be the head women's basketball coach at FSCC," Reihmann said in a release issued by the college Tuesday afternoon. "I look forward to leading this program both in the classroom and on the court."

Prior to coming to FSCC, Reihmann was an assistant coach at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa, during the 2009-10 season. Her first coaching job was as the assistant coach at North Fayette High School in West Union, Iowa, from 2007 to 2009.

"The selection committee made a great choice with Coach Reihmann," FSCC Athletic Director J.D. Ettore said. "Katie proved to all of us that she has a plan to take Greyhound women's basketball in the right direction with clear priorities for academics as well as on the court."

Reihmann played junior college basketball at Des Moines Area Community College from 2003 to 2005. Reihmann transferred to NCAA Division I Ohio University in 2005-06 then returned to Iowa to finish her college playing time at Upper Iowa University.

Reihmann graduated in May 2008 with her bachelor's degree from Upper Iowa in Fitness/Wellness. She received her Master's in 2010 from Ohio University in Recreation and Sports Science.
