Fort Scott High School's junior varsity softball team is 2-2 after its first four games of the season, all played on the road.
The Tigers swept Labette County at Altamont March 30 by 14-3 scores in each game. Tanner Wunderly had 3 hits for Fort Scott in the first game while Jessica Milburn and Kyenne Wade each had 2. Milburn, Wade and Emily Bowman had 3 hits apiece in the second game.
Kesley Simons pitched the first game. She allowed 7 hits and 4 walks while striking out 5. Wade pitched the second game, allowing 4 hits and 4 walks while striking out 13.
Independence took both games from Fort Scott Thursday, 15-8 and 5-4. Bowman had 2 hits in the opener for the Tigers. Wade, Bowman and Meghan Guss each had one hit in the second game.
Simons allowed 8 hits and 4 walks while striking out 8 in the first game. Wade struck out 12 in the second game while allowing 4 hits and 4 walks.
The JV was scheduled to play Monday at Pittsburg. The Tigers will play their first home doubleheader Friday against Coffeyville beginning at 4:30 p.m.
