He was born April 8, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo., son of Hazel and Arthur Jordan. He was the youngest of four siblings. On Dec. 7, 1950, in Fort Scott, Kan., he married Leona B. Clayton, who survives.
Arthur served six years in the U.S. Navy. He received his B.A. from Pittsburg State University and master's degree from the University of Missouri.
In 1954 Arthur Jordan moved his family to Las Vegas. There he became a member of Second Baptist Church. He worked for the Clark County School District and retired as an Administrator in 1983.
He is survived by his wife Leona B. Jordan, five children, seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held at Davis Funeral Home on 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on March 13, 2012. Services will be held on Wednesday March 14 at Second Baptist Church located at 500 Madison Ave, Las Vegas, 89106 at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Davis Funeral Home 6200 S Eastern Ave Las Vegas, Nev., 89119.
