Six members of the Fort Scott High School wrestling team were named to the All-Southeast Kansas League team this week.
Two members earned First Team status. Sophomore Jacob Durossette was named as the 132-pound wrestler while senior Dane Cummings was chosen for the 195-pound spot.
Also named to the First Team were Pittsburg's Levi Kester at 106, Parker Fields at 120, Brett Cobb at 126, Aaron Seybolt at 145, Brent Koehn at 182 and Broc Bennett at 285. Seybolt and Bennett won the Class 4A State title at their respective weight classes.
Rounding out the First Team are Chanute's Sam Son at 160, who also won State this year, teammates Adam Cole at 113, Alex Son at 152, Skyer McGinnis at 170 and Jordan Drybread at 220; and Columbus' Taylor Watkins at 138.
Four Tigers were awarded Honorable Mention status: senior Christian Tavenaro at 182 pounds, juniors Victor Hughes 138 and 1John Metcalf at 170, and sophomore Jerad Heckman at 126.
Each of the six Fort Scott wrestlers honored qualified for State this year with Hughes and Durossette finishing in fifth place at their weights.
Others on the Honorable Mention list include Columbus' Derek Creel at 106, Pittsburg's Jeremiah Jones at 113, Chanute's Chase Cole at 120, Parsons' Thatcher Murdock at 132, Independence's Tim Erbe at 145, Coffeyville's Derek Frost at 152, Iola's Devin Culler at 160, Columbus' Gavin Houser at 195, Pittsburg's Gershom Avalos at 220 and Labette County's Spencer Gatewood at 285 pounds.
