Barnstormers prepare for County Days
Submitted to The Tribune
The January meeting of the Barnstormers was held on Wednesday, Jan. 11. We welcomed our new members to the club. Leaders reminded everyone of County Days coming up in Moran, and beef tag-in dates, along with the dates for sheep, goats and hog tag in.
Kelli is waiting to hear if the raptor or reptile program from Pittsburg State University will be at the February meeting. It was decided what skit we would do for County Days and when the practices would be held. Presentations were given by Jacob DeLaTorre, Braden Griffiths and Wyatt DeHaven.
The February meeting of the Barnstormers was held on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Ms. Lister from PSU Nature Reach Program gave a talk about different types of birds of prey. She brought with her several birds -- a vulture, a falcon, an owl and a hawk. It was very interesting to see and learn about these birds.
The results of the County Days was given. The club skit, "Alice in 4-H Land," received a purple and will be competing at the regional contest at Altoona-Midway school.
Kelli went over a few changes to the fair concerning the dog and rabbit programs.
The next meeting will be held March 14 and will be parent's night.
