MARTIN WALLACE STUART

Martin Wallace Stuart, age 79, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Mercy Hospital of Fort Scott. He was born March 13, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Harold Stuart and Wilma Yoakum Stuart. He taught music at Grossmont College in San Diego, Calif., for 14 years. He married Judith A. Vincent on Oct. 10, 1980, in San Diego. Martin considered himself a spiritualist.

He dedicated his life to helping others and sharing his musical talent. He was an extremely giving person, almost to a fault.

Survivors include his wife Judith of the home; two daughters, Lisa M. Stuart, Kent, Wash., and Mica Brown, Yakima, Wash.; a brother, Gene Stuart and wife Sherrie, Georgetown, Texas; two granddaughters, Jannelle Heuslein and Estella Heuslein; a nephew, David Stuart, Fort Scott; a niece, Susan Schenk; and a cousin, Sondra Carlson and husband Ralph, Fort Scott. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Stuart; and a daughter, Colleen Stuart; as well as his parents.

There was cremation. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
