10 FSCC student-athletes earn All-Academic recognition

Friday, February 10, 2012

Ten Fort Scott Community College student-athletes have earned a spot on the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference fall 2011 All-Academic Team.

The Greyhounds are represented by six members of the volleyball team and four members of the football squad.

The volleyball players honored are Heather Greer, Ali Cure, Paula Okrutna, Taylyn Schwartz, Kate Smith, and Britney Timme. The football players recognized are Dallas Buck, Denver Ramsey, Kevin Park, and Anthony West

In order to make the KJCCC Fall All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have compiled a 3.5 grade point average or higher for the fall semester.

"Their coaches, FSCC administration, faculty, and staff are all very proud of these young men and women," Fort Scott Athletic Director J.D. Ettore said. "Greyhound Athletics stresses academics and graduation as our main priorities and these student-athletes are great examples of that fact."
