She was born Sept. 6, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Bracy Sweat and Deloris Peters Sweat.
She married Jack Kendrick in 1972. They later divorced. She married Ron Davis in 1988 and they later divorced.
Her life centered on her grandchildren with whom she loved to spend time. Freda enjoyed working with potted plants, and she was known to have a "green thumb."
Survivors include her mother Deloris Wisdom, Mapleton, Kan.; a daughter, Cassie Haynes and husband David, Fort Scott; adopted daughter, Frieda Anderson and husband David, LaCygne, Kan.; seven brothers, Ricky Sweat, Bruce Sweat, Billy Sweat, Jack Sweat, Terry Peters, Bryan Sweat, Charlie Sweat; and four sisters, Cindy Hobbs, Becky Darnell, Dorothy Sweat and Reva Wisdom.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Alexis Kendrick, Zaria Haynes-Kendrick and Raya Haynes; as well as many area children to whom she was mother and grandmother.
Rev. Rod Hillhouse will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
Following funeral services there will be cremation with burial at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
