Roslyn Rappaport Litwin, formerly of Fort Scott, died Nov. 20, 2011, at the age of 89 in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 7, 1922, and married her beloved husband, Fred, on May 28, 1944. She was the dear mother of Anne Litwin (Mike Willard), Debbie (Jim) Exum, Jane (Ed) Lyss, the late Rick Litwin and the grandmother of Sam, Jack, Alex Lyss and Rebecca (Shmuel) Lieberman.

A longtime resident of Fort Scott, Kan., since the 1940's, Roz, along with her husband Fred, was co-owner of the Litwin's Family Clothing store.

Roz was also an active community member and a devoted wife and mother. Her home was always open to her children's friends. Roz embodied the gift of friendship to her close friends in Fort Scott, Kansas City and Boca Raton, Fla.

She will be missed by surviving members of the extended Litwin, Lyss and Porte Robb families to whom she was a much beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
