She was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Kincaid, Kan., the daughter of William Elmer and Zaida Marie Worden Ross.
She married Chester M. Kershner, Feb. 28, 1947, in Mound City, Kan.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Moran, enjoyed gardening, volunteering and spending time with and/or telling friends about her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Chester of the home; two sons, Kenneth Kershner and his wife Connie of Chanute, Kan., and Dennis Kershner and his wife Jan of Iola, Kan.; three sisters, Helen Smith of Moran, Marjorie Logsdon of Winfield, Kan., and Verl Ross of Grand Prairie, Texas; three brothers, Lawrence Ross of Marlow, Texas, Paul Ross of Indianapolis, Ind., and Gale Ross of Allen, Texas, 10 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Marie Ross and Doris McCollum, three brothers, George, James, and Russell Ross, and a grandson, Christopher Kershner.
Rev. David Shrum will conduct funeral services for Lois Kershner at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the United Methodist Church of Moran under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, Fort Scott, Kan.
Burial will be in the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to either the Allen County Animal Rescue Foundation or the United Methodist Church of Moran.
