PAOLA, Kan. -- Fort Scott High School's volleyball team suffered a sweep in a non-league triangular here Thursday night, falling to Paola and Wellsville in two games.
The Tigers (5-4) lost to Paola, 25-20, 25-12. Mallory Shelton had 6 kills and 3 blocks for the Tigers. Kenzie Heatherly dished 9 assists.
"Paola we came out and passed very well," Fort Scott head coach Carol Bingesser said. "We struggled with their left side hitter. She was really hitting hard and we couldn't reach her on the block."
Fort Scott lost to Wellsville, 25-20, 25-19. Shelton had 7 kills and 5 digs. Paige Denton got 6 digs and Heatherly had 11 assists.
"Wellsville both games were tough we would get a good pass and then couldn't get the kill," Bingesser said. "They had a very good libero who just didn't let a ball drop."
The Tigers will go to Prairie View Thursday for a non-league quadrangular that also includes Louisburg and Osawatomie.
