A group of case managers at Tri-Valley Developmental Services recently achieved 100 percent completion of the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) Case Management Assessment Testing.

Six targeted case managers completed the new online case management assessment. The new tool was designed to test case managers to ensure that they had the background and knowledge base to provide services to Kansans with developmental disabilities. The assessment consisted of eight modules, with each one lasting 20 to 30 minutes.

"We are very excited to have all six case managers, as well as our director of case management, Michelle Rosenberg, achieve 100 percent completion on all modules," TVDS Executive Director Tim Cunningham said in a news release.

In addition to the new assessment, there was a new handbook created as well to guide case managers through the complicated developmental disability system. The manual was developed by a statewide workgroup over the last year and included Rosenberg.

The following individuals completed the assessment: Samantha McMillan, Chanute, Laurie Platner, Fort Scott, Cindy Lawrence, Fort Scott, Lisa Kinkel, Chanute, Rosenberg, Fort Scott, Debi Cramer, Chanute, Korey Sexton, Chanute, and Sandy Thompson, Chanute.

TVDS provides case management services to residents with developmental disabilities in Allen, Bourbon, Neosho and Woodson counties.

The case management services are defined as those services which will assist the individual in gaining access to medical, social, educational and other needed services, the release said.
