Grace Vera "Gracie" Cobler, 83, of Fort Scott, died at Mercy Health Center, Tuesday evening, June 28, 2011.
She was born March 22, 1928, in Kingfisher, Okla., the daughter of Robert Francis and Esther May (Truitt) Criner.
She married Kenneth Laurence Cobler Sept. 21, 1944, in Woodland, Calif. He preceded her in death June 10, 1995.
Gracie worked as a file clerk for the Western Insurance Company, and she was also an announcer for KVCY Christian Radio and filled in at the affiliated book store.
She was a member of Life Point Assembly of God.
Gracie is survived by her daughter, Veretta Kay Cobler of New York, N.Y.; two sisters, Rosy Wanshop of Esparto, Calif., and Esther Mayes of Kingfisher, Okla.; a brother, Ralph Criner of Esparto, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Vernie Bahlman, and a son, Ray Alan "Skip" Cobler.
Pastor Steve Bell will conduct funeral services for Gracie 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home with burial following at the Hiattville Cemetery.
