Amanda and Ethan Smilie and sibling Helena, Chanute, Kan., are pleased to announce the birth of their son and brother Benedict Joseph Smilie on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 5:24 a.m. at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, Chanute. Benedict weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Dave and Sheila Blubaugh, Fort Scott. Paternal grandparents are Patty and Dale Smilie, Fort Scott.
