Help available for visually impaired

OSAGE CITY -- ikan, a consortium of independent living centers, headed by Prairie Independent Living Center (PILR), has funds available to purchase assistive technology for people who are blind or have low vision and are age 55 or older. Individuals interested in obtaining assistive technology must live in one of the 76 counties covered by ikan and fill out an application. Additional funds are also available for individuals interested in receiving orientation and mobility services.
