Marjorie Grace Black, 87, of Pleasanton, Kan., died Monday, June 6, 2011, at the Countryview Nursing Home, Prescott, Kan.
She was born July 18, 1923, in Augusta, Kan. She was the daughter of Elmer and Bessie Meachem Berg.
She married Weslie Black on Nov. 10, 1940, at Eldorado, Kan.
He preceded her in death on June 10, 1996.
Marjorie was a member of the Pleasanton Church of the Nazarene, where she had served as secretary and treasurer and also taught Sunday School.
She was preceded in death also by her parents and one son, Richard Black, who died in 1984.
Survivors include three sons; James Black and wife Julie of Paola, Kan.; John Black and wife Susan of Pleasanton and Patrick Black and wife, Brenda of Mound City, Kan.; five daughters, Penny Black, Glenna Baldwin and husband Lloyd, Janet Kleweno and husband Eric, all of Pleasanton, Carol Beckwith and husband Bob of Fort Scott and Patricia Murray and husband Larry of Nixa, Mo.; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 10, at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Interment will be in the Littell Cemetery, Pleasanton, Kan.
