Record breaker

John Reed, a Uniontown Junior High student, broke the meet record in long jump Tuesday at the Three Rivers League meet in Arma, Kan. Reed's 17 foot-1/2 inch jump knocked out a record that was around 25 years old. It was the Eagles' final meet of the season. (Joe Kuns/Special to the herald-Tribune)
