Mercy Physician Group will hold its annual sports physical clinics from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. May 4. The sports physical examinations are for students age 10 to 18. Clinics will be held at the Mercy Physician Group Clinic at 403 Woodland Hills Blvd., Fort Scott.

Cost is $10 on this date. Proceeds from this community service will be donated to the student's school athletic department, a news release said.

"We are pleased to again offer this important service to our community," said Annamarie Holmes, director of Mercy Physician Group. "Sports physicals are required by school districts for students wishing to participate in extracurricular activities. The physicals ensure that the student is healthy to participate."

"It is suggested that the student's primary care physician perform these types of exams because they are familiar with the student's family medical history," Holmes added. "This aids in a comprehensive and efficient evaluation of the students current medical status."

The eight Mercy providers donating time for the clinic are: Drs. P.K. Gugnani; Amy Sachau; John Fox; Randy Nichols; David Parris; Maxwell Self; and Terry Schwab; and Greg King, advanced registered nurse practitioner-certified (ARNP-C).

Appointments are not necessary. For more information, contact Mercy Physician Group at (620) 223-8040, or toll free at (888) 637-2937.
