Annual home show scheduled this weekend at Fort Scott Community College

The 31st Annual Fort Scott Area Home and Garden Show is scheduled March 19-20 at Arnold Arena on the Fort Scott Community College campus, 2108 S. Horton St.

Hours on Saturday are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

About 1,000 people are expected and some 25 exhibitors will be featured, Chairwoman Dola Cress said Wednesday.

Local businesses will offer door prizes and free flower seeds will be given out, along with $10 every hour on the hour, Cress said. Whoever wins the door prizes has to go to the business to claim it, she said.

Care To Share, a cancer support group, will have a booth and furnish food.

"It's a good way to spend an afternoon and hopefully people will come after church and have lunch," Cress said.
