Thelma Francine Belknap, 95, of Fort Scott, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at the Fort Scott Manor Nursing Home.

She was born July 31, 1915 in Chetopa, Kan., the daughter of Madison F. and Edna E. (Balay) Warwick.

She married James H. Belknap, Sr. in July of 1935. He preceded her in death Nov. 29, 1943.

She is survived by a daughter Sue DeMent; two sons, Jim Belknap, of Fort Scott; and Bob Belknap and wife Pam, also of Fort Scott; a sister, Nancy Lee Handshy of Webb City, Mo.; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James H. Belknap Sr., and a brother, Willard A. Warwick.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon, Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, then leave for the Oswego City Cemetery in Oswego, Kan., where Rev. Paul Babcock will conduct a 2 p.m. graveside service.
