LIght Up Fort Scott seeking entries

Local residents and neighborhoods will once again have a chance this holiday season to participate in the annual Light Up Fort Scott decoration contest sponsored by the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce.

Participants are encouraged to bring out the best in decorating their homes in a traditional, patriotic or religious theme in the spirit of the Christmas holiday season.

One winner in each category will receive a $50 prize, and one overall neighborhood winner will also be presented with a $50 prize. Winners will be chosen by riders on the trolley during the Dolly Hollyday Tours which begin at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15-23.

Riders will also be treated to carols led by Christmas elves, elf humor and a special holiday treat.

Entry forms for the contest are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the chamber office, 231 E. Wall St. Forms are also available at www.fortscott.com.

Reservations can now be made for the trolley tours and the cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children. Group reservations, which will reserve the entire trolley for up to 22 people, may also be made at a cost of $100.
