Jean Marie Townsend, age 71, resident of Bronson, Kan., died Saturday, Nov. 13, at her home.
She was born Sept. 3, 1939, in Bell Gardens, Calif., the daughter of James Wasner and Henrietta Louise Trusdale Wasner.
She married Raymond Thomas on May 21, 1957. They later divorced.
She married Ronald Townsend on Sept. 20, 1986. He preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2009.
Jean had worked as a bookkeeper for a car dealership in California.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Hangen and Linda Crouch, both of El Cajon, Calif.; four sisters, Kathleen Swinney, Bronson, Kan.; Irene Braun, El Cajon, Calif.; Mary Dalton, San Francisco, Calif.; and Carolyn Higgins, Springfield, Ore.; and a brother-in-law, John Coons, Bronson, Kan.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Raymond Thomas and a sister, Lorinda Coons.
Pastor Lloyd Houk will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel.
Following funeral services, there will be cremation.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel.
